But I don’t want anything too big. And I need to be able to pull out my wallet and cell phones to transfer to a weekend purse. And it needs to have a short handle for grabbing plus a long strap to carry crossbody (which rules out most women’s tote-style bags). And it can’t have a flap-over-the-top closure (which rules out most briefcases).This bag is only slightly smaller than my last briefcase, but it looks much smaller because it has a trim and professional look. I’m 5’4″, and my last bag looked like I was hauling a suitcase – this one does not. The leather and fittings are attractive. Very simple and classic style.In front large pocket, I have: wallet, pens, work ID badge and clip, sunglasses, reading glasses, portable charger, and a small pouch with lipstick, teabags, and other emergency supplies. The middle large pocket holds my laptop (13″, I think), a notepad, and other folders/papers as needed. The back large pocket holds the computer charger, mouse, dongle, network cable, and two thumb drives. The small flat pocket along the back holds my two cell phones. And with all this, the zippers all zip just fine, there are no odd bulges, and it easily stands upright.I love this bag. |

| Weight | Just received my Banuce Women’s Full Grains Leather Briefcase. Upon opening the box I thought I had received the wrong color, just as another amazonian mentioned (turns out it is just the garment bag). The briefcase itself is beautifully made with cowhide leather, 100% polyester interior, and bronze colored hardware. The details are uniform, with the handles very securely stitched onto the bag, and five small “feet” on the bottom of the bag. Comes with a removable strap, (not entirely made of leather) although the shoulder pad is. Much more than enough room inside to put my 11 inch macbook and its accompanying accessories. Can possibly replace a small-medium sized tote/purse. Working at a law firm, this is more than capable of carrying around even small files, although it may get very strenuous on shoulders.Aside from the padded middle laptop compartment, there is another large space to put folders, books, etc. Within the one side to that there are four pockets to keep small, loose things like keys, pens, phone, planners. To the other side there are ANOTHER two pockets plus a zipped slot to keep passports, and such; then there is the outside zipped compartment. In all, I counted TWELVE compartments (4 large, 6 pockets, 2 interior/exterior zipped). Gave 5 stars without actual use just for the aesthetics, quality of leather, and ability to (very neatly) sort any and all things you can imagine. Will update after 6 months. |

| Model Number | I received this bag as an early Christmas gift from my sweetie, as I needed a more grad-school/ post grad school interview/ professional appearance than a backpack can offer. (He nailed it- I love the look of this bag, as it’s not too large, and could honestly be unisex, as far as I am concerned.) For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been carrying it around fully loaded/ doubling as a purse to see how I like it, and here are my impressions:Color: Some reviewers mentioned that the color is too orange, and I would say that it definitely has an orange tint to the finish; however, I think the color is really pretty and doesn’t detract from the overall appearance of the bag. That said, I am sure you could tone it down with a brown shoe polish if you find the shade off-putting. (I don’t). To my eyes, I find the color in the pictures/product description to have been true to the color of the bag when it arrived.Leather: The leather itself seems to be of decent quality, but I wouldn’t throw it around in the back of a pickup and be surprised when it picked up a few scuffs. (I don’t know of a leather bag that wouldn’t scratch with abuse, so I was surprised to see that some reviewers rated the bag poorly based on this- my plan is to treat the bag with care, keeping it polished/protected regularly, and to let it wear naturally. ) It smells wonderful every time I walk by, and I can’t wait to carry this to and from class every day.Hardware: The hardware seems to work fine, is of serviceable quality, and is unobtrusive/ doesn’t stand out- this, in my mind adds to the overall appeal of the bag: it definitely reads as more “high-end” than it’s price point.Lining: The hand of the fabric seems adequate, not too flimsy. It’s a light beige, which has advantages and disadvantages: Pro to this is that it’s easy to find everything right away; if you’ve ever had a bag with a black liner, you know what I am talking about, as dark liners make it hard to find what you are looking for. Of course, the con is that it might stain easily. I haven’t needed to spot clean it yet, but I’ll report back later if I notice anything problematic. (I do love that Hobo brand bags use patterned fabric in all their merchandise- perhaps Banuce might consider using something similar in future designs to offset interior staining? Just a thought, y’all!)Stitching: We both carefully inspected the bag, inside and out as soon as the box was opened. Stitching was tight and clean in both leather and lining. Handles were wrapped in plastic, and the bag appeared to be new/ not used or a return.Pockets: The pockets themselves are ample, and it’s easy to keep items at hand and well organized. I like the external pocket in the back for storing my phone. The supporting material underneath the fabric- one earlier reviewer described this as being possibly cardboard, but I don’t know- it’s one thing I’ll be keeping an eye on. In short, I do wonder how they will hold up over time. I am sure it is a balancing act to find materials that are quality, wear sufficiently, and do not weigh the bag down- all while being mass-produced, as I am thinking this bag is. That said, the pockets do their job, and it’s easy to open up the zippers and access the contents find what you are looking for.Footprint and contents: The bag stands up and seems well- balanced; here’s what I currently carry in the bag, and initial impressions… The velcro closure computer compartment holds my 13-inch MacBook Pro, as well as the puffy-zippered additional sleeve that I store it in. Plenty of room for my planner, notebook/ client files, plus my iPad, wallet, pencil case, and charging components for all my devices. Makeup bag fits nicely as well, and I feel like there is still room. Granted, I am one of those folks who believes in organizing my bags with smaller bags to keep things from sloshing around, and the large pockets in this bag work well for my organization system. I’m sure I’ll be testing capacity limits as next term wears on, and will report back If I encounter anything worth passing along. (A Standard water bottle/ coffee thermos might be a little wide/ bulky, for example, so that might require something a little more “creative” on my part.) Stay tuned for more on that as I work out the bugs.Weight on my shoulders: I love the shoulder strap, which I utilize for the cross-body option- doesn’t dig into my shoulders, which I had been worried about. As noted above, this bag holds my “life”, and so I wanted to make sure it wasn’t too uncomfortable for commuting to and from school. The handles are large enough that I can sling it over a shoulder as well, though it may be a tad snug for those wearing a bulky coat.Overall: I am impressed with the quality of the bag for the price-point, and, failing some egregious lapses in quality that I haven’t encountered yet, I am thinking that I can get several years of use out of this bag as an everyday, until I am able to upgrade to something a little more luxe.
